A spacious holiday home in Naretoi on the edge of the Mara reserve. The clients were inspired by their travels through America, specifically some of the Colorado mountain homes they encountered. Stacked local stone and plantation gum pole off cuts make up the facade. Splitting the orientation of the wood goes a long way in helping to break up the mass of the building along with the wrap around verandas. The second story is comprised of two expansive en suite bedrooms with balconies framing views to the Masai Mara.
